This is a fabulous Mexican sterling silver and amethyst necklace signed RTA with matching screwback earrings signed Antonio Pineda. The earrings measure 2 1/8" x 1" and bear the Antonio crown mark on one and an early eagle assay mark with "17" in the center and 970 for silver content, c. 1950s. The necklace is extremely well crafted and is heavy (over 120 grams). It is of the quality of Antonio but is signed "RTA, Hecho en Mexico, Mexico, DF", "Silver 925" and design no. "31C". The necklace has a wearable length of 14 1/4" and is 1 3/4" at the widest points. It is constructed with alternating drops of amethyst and unadorned silver which hang from a double silver chain. The drops are not joined so the necklace lays beautifully on the neck. Both the necklace and earrings are in really excellent condition with typical inclusions in the natural amethyst stones, giving a lovely, marbleized effect
