This is a really beautiful 800 silver compact with handpainted enamel scene, c. 1920s. Probably Austrian or German, the compact is gold washed and is in pristine condition with no loss, damage or scratches to the enamel. It is simply marked "800" (for silver content), has a diameter of 2 3/4" and is 1/2" deep. The mirror is in excellent condition and the powder sifter is also pristine. It does not appear to have been used. The border of the lid, the sides of the compact and the back have a detailed chased design.
