ANTONIO PINEDA Sterling & Onyx Crescent Bracelet
This is a stunning sterling silver and onyx "Crescent" bracelet by Antonio Pineda, c. 1950. The bracelet is pictured on p. 143 of Morrill and Berk's book "Mexican Silver". This is a substantial bracelet, weighing 105 grams and measuring 1 3/8" wide with an inside circumference of about 7". The clasp is secure and it has what appears to be the original safety chain. The bracelet is fully hallmarked with the Antonio crown mark, an eagle assay mark with "17" in the center, "970 silver" and "sterling Mexico". The bracelet is in excellent condition with one microscopic fleabite to the onyx, visible with magnification only and very light surface wear to the silver consistent with use. See my other items for the matching earrings.
